2009 Commencement Checklist for Bachelor's Degree Candidates
Step 1: Eligibility deadlines
If you are planning to walk at Commencement and want to be eligible for the maximum number of guest tickets, it is critical that you submit the necessary paperwork to your college by the appropriate deadline. For specific eligibility information contact your Student Affairs Officer.
MARCH 13 - Last day for bachelor's degree candidates to file an Application for Graduation form with their College in order to receive a Spring 2009 graduation date, and be eligible for the maximum number of guest tickets.
APRIL 17 - Last day for bachelor's degree candidates who wish to walk, but are not planning to graduate until Summer 2009, to file an Application for Graduation form with their College if you wish to have your name listed in the Commencement Program book, and be eligible for the maximum number of guest tickets.

- Bourns College of Engineering (BCOE)
Step 2: Update your personal information in SIS
Review your personal information in SIS via GROWL, and update as appropriate - local and permanent address, phone and email. Your Commencement photo proofs, diploma information etc. will be sent to you after graduation and we'll need to be able to reach you.
Step 3: Confirm your intent to participate at Commencement
Not all students who graduate choose to walk at Commencement. In order to ensure adequate seating for you and your guests, all eligible students who plan to attend must confirm their Intent to Participate with the Office of Event Management and Protocol from May 5 - May 12. At this time, you will be able to review your degree information as it will be published in the Commencement Program book, order your Commencement tickets and let us know how you wish to have your name read at the ceremony.
Step 4: Attend Grad Fair
Grad Fair is the one stop for all of your graduation needs. It will be held in New Student Commons, Room 302 on:
- Tuesday, May 5 - 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, May 6 - 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 7 - 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Step 5: Get your Cap and Gown
Bachelor's degree cap, gown and tassel ($43.95) are available for purchase May 5-7 at the Grad Fair. Beginning May 8, caps and gowns may be purchased at the UCR Campus Store.
Step 6: Order and pick up your Commencement tickets
Candidates must order guest tickets online May 5 - 12 when you confirm your Intent to Participate via the Commencement Web site. Tickets will be available for pick up at the University Theatre Box Office. Candidates must come in person, with their student ID in order to receive their tickets. Step 7: Attend Commencement - June 12, 13, 14, & 15
Candidates should arrive at your check-in location one hour prior to the start time of your ceremony. Check the Commencement Schedule for the correct date and time.
