Teaching Credential Checklist

Commencement Checklist for Teaching Credential Candidates 

Step 1: Confirm Completion

If you are completing UCR's Teacher Education Program and wish to participate at Commencement, you need to have completed the appropriate paperwork on time and received approval from the Teacher Education Program office. For specific eligibility information and application deadlines, contact Leticia Singh. GSOE students who are also graduating with their Master's degree should also refer to the Checklist for Advanced Degree Candidates.  

Step 2: Review and update your personal information in R'Web

Review your contact information and how your full name and credential information are recorded in R'Web as soon as possible to ensure that they are correct.

If you need to have your name corrected, information regarding requesting a change or correction of name is available on the Registrar's website.  Any changes or corrections to your name need to be updated to your record by May 8 to be included in the Commencement Program book so please allow the Registrar’s Office sufficient time to process your request.

Step 3: Order Guest Tickets

Not everyone who completes the Teacher Education Program chooses to participate at Commencement. If you are planning to attend, you must register and order guest tickets between Thursday, April 20, 2017 and 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 27, 2017. Please see the Graduate Division ceremony page for more information regarding tickets.

Step 4: Purchase your Cap and Gown

Teacher Credential Candidates should purchase the cap and gown corresponding to the highest degree you have earned. Bachelor's and Master's regalia may be purchased at Grad Fair, April 25 - 27. Prices are as follows:  Bachelor’s gown, cap and tassel package -$56.98; Master’s gown, cap and tassel - $58.98; Master’s hood - $36.98.  Following Grad Fair, bachelor’s and master’s regalia may be purchased at the UCR Campus Store.

Step 5: Attend Grad Fair and Pick your Tickets up

Grad Fair will be held Tuesday, April 25 through Thursday, April 27 in HUB 302.

Commencement tickets ordered online between April 20 and April 27, 2017 will be available for pick up in HUB 355.

Grad Fair and Ticket Distribution hours:

  • Tuesday, April 25, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Wednesday, April 26, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, April 27, 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.

You must come in person, with your student ID, in order to receive your tickets, or if you designated a courier when you submitted your ticket order, they may pick your tickets up for you with a valid ID.

If you are not able to pick your tickets up during Grad Fair, additional dates and times for ticket distribution will be posted on the Tickets page. 

Step 6: Attend the Graduate Division Commencement ceremony on June 17, 2017

Teacher Credential candidates will participate in the Graduate Division ceremony on Saturday, June 17, at 6:00 p.m. on the  Pierce Lawn. Please arrive on campus no later than 5:00 p.m. and check-in outside of the Student Services Building.  Refer to the Graduate Division ceremony web page for additional details. 

Step 7: Join the UCR Alumni Association
