Graduate Division Hooding Ceremony

(All Ph.D. and M.F.A. candidates) 

Date: Saturday, June 3, 2023, 9:00 a.m.
Location: Student Recreation Center (SRC) North

Estimated Ceremony Length: 2 hours and 30 minutes


Tickets Required for Entry

Ten (10) tickets will be provided per graduate for the Graduate Division Hooding ceremony so please plan accordingly. Graduates do NOT need a ticket for entry. Children under the age of 2 do NOT need a ticket to attend.

UCR Commencement tickets are the property of the University and are issued to participating graduates at no charge. The sale, purchase, or duplication of Commencement tickets is strictly prohibited.

Please note, ticket ordering is not on a first-come, first-served basis. All graduates who are registered and order their tickets by Friday, May 13, 2023 are guaranteed the maximum number of tickets for their ceremony.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.


Directions and Parking

UC Riverside is located near the convergence of the 91-60-215 freeways in the city of Riverside.

Parking for Commencement ceremonies is complimentary, and parking permits are not required. General parking for Student Recreation Center ceremonies is available in Lot 24 and Lot 26, where you can park in any unmarked, unreserved space. Lots are no more than a five- or ten-minute walk to the SRC. Please do not park in reserved, service, or disabled spaces without an appropriate permit.

Accessible Parking
Lot 25 
has been reserved for seniors and guests with a disabled plate or placard.


Graduate/Candidate Arrival and Check in:

7:45 a.m. at Student Recreation Center (SRC) South, MAC Gym

Each of UCR's Commencement ceremonies will be webcast live. A link to the webcast will be provided from the Commencement home page.


Prohibited Items

The following items are prohibited on campus: tobacco products, alcohol, illegal drugs/paraphernalia, and weapons of any kind including firearms and knives and animals except for service dogs. Balloons, signs of any size and air horns etc. are not allowed at the venue; please leave these items at home or in your vehicle. Security will be screening at the venue.

Smoking and tobacco use are not permitted on university property.
